Metro Detroit Youth Day

Celebrating Our 30th Year Helping Youth!

July 11, 2012
Belle Isle Park, Detroit

Founded in 1981, following altercations between youngsters and area store owners on Livernois Ave. between 6 and 7 Mile roads, Metro Detroit Youth Day has a goal of bringing together Metro Detroit area youngsters from diverse backgrounds.  The day includes supervised sports clinics, games, contests, a free lunch, motivational speakers, entertainment, the awarding of annual scholarships, and various other activities.

Youth Day has received a number of awards and honors, including the Point of Light Award, as well as the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness Award as the largest youth event in Michigan.  This annual event brings together youths, ages 8-15, and volunteers for a free day of food, fun and education.  Registration forms are available the beginning of February. Phone (586) 393-8800.
